The five biggest NHS waiting lists right now (data through May 2026):

1. Trauma and Orthopaedic Service — 835,954 on the list across 311 providers; national median 13 weeks.
2. Ophthalmology Service — 626,414 on the list across 346 providers; national median 8 weeks.
3. Ear Nose and Throat Service — 595,204 on the list across 168 providers; national median 13 weeks.
4. Gynaecology Service — 572,886 on the list across 199 providers; national median 13 weeks.
5. Dermatology Service — 384,766 on the list across 122 providers; national median 10 weeks.

Every national specialty page has a 12-month trend chart and the full ranked list of trusts — ready to screenshot and cite.

NHS England releases monthly RTT data on the second Thursday of each month at 09:30 UK time — next: 13 August, 10 September, 8 October 2026. Our automated pipeline ingests the new month the same day.

On each release morning we send the HospitalWaits Monthly Briefing: the headline numbers, 2–3 findings the NHS press notice doesn't show, and figures localised to your patch — in your inbox before 11:00. Live waiting-time widgets you can drop into any article or website as an iframe — they update themselves each month and carry the NHS source line automatically. Editorial private hospital listings shown on the site are pulled from publicly available pricing guides; no commercial relationship exists with those providers in V1.
